God you know me
You made my body whole
You knew my story
Before it was ever told.
You brought all the good in my life
And you allowed the bad.
Sometimes its hard to reconcile
The ways my story is sad.
Sometimes I want a mom
For their tender love and care
But the reality is I have one
But she’s not there.
She can’t be there for me
Too sick for herself
The damage from her lack of love
For a lifetime will be felt.
Somehow you take this bad
And you use it for good.
You’ve taken this part of my story
And given it to a man nailed on wood.
I hear whispers from the Holy Spirit saying
“Give it all to me.
Let me take her place.
I’ll be all you need.”
I tell him of my fear
That I’ll fail my kids the way mine failed me
He says “My Child,
I’m all you need.
Abide in my life
And my strength each day
And I will give you
All you need to do or say.
You’re not alone
I’m always there.
I made you with love and care.
It wasn’t an accident
No mistake was made.
Her leaving made you
Who you are today.
This world isn’t perfect
Its filled with people in sin.
But the ‘I Am.”
Is where perfection begins.
The sins of others
Can cut so deep.
But there is no part of you
That’s too much for me to keep.
So let go my child
I hold you in my hands.
She can’t.
But the ‘I Am’ can.”T
